After I bought my first string of 100 ft paracord, I realized how insanely useful it was. I use it for just about everything, I seriously believe it is even more useful than duct tape. At first, I only purchased 100 ft from a military surplus website but it only took maybe a little over 2 months to completely eat through my supply. When I discovered the great priced paracord here on Amazon, I bought 300 feet so it would last me a little longer (I only have about 50 feet left so I might want to make another order) I love paracord mostly because of its size and strength. It really confounds me how something that I've used as shoelace string can hold up 3 people my size easily without breaking. After my wonderful experiences with paracord, I've gotten to the point where I laugh at people who've never used it. Oh, but a word of warning about paracord and nylon rope in general, when you melt the ends (after cutting a section off) be very careful about keeping the drippings off your skin...just yesterday I got a huge glob of molten nylon on my finger and received a 3rd degree burn and a brand new scar. I will still use paracord though, just next time when I melt my ends I'll wear some gloves. My review says that I give paracord a 5/5 but forget fractions, paracord deserves a 7/5 easily!!!

Purchased 100' of the black paracord 550, once it arrived I checked that it was 7 strands (it is) and was satisfied. The packaging says that this paracord is Type III Commercial, if that makes a difference to anyone.

This is pretty hard to find- Digital Camo Para cord. I got it for my son who's in Iraq. It was shipped neatly packed, and quickly delivered. Very Happy. WDBA AAAA+++++. to learn more google mp1331

It's paracord what could they really screw up. It was cheap, met the specs and came fast.

Essential gear for any outdoor enthusiast. This item has a 7 strand core making it strong enough for nearly any task. As with all rope, keep it off the ground and out of the dirt. Great price for the 600' roll - also sold in 100' lengths if you don't need quite as much.

This cord is a must for any, camper, hunter, or fisherman. It will hold up your tent, hang a quarter of an elk, but is still small enough to tie up the top of your stuff sack. I always have a roll!

True 550 para cord like the ones being sold here are invaluable if you hike, camp, fish, or spend anytime outdoors. I recommend that you replace the laces in your boots with this, wrap some around your water bottle, stick some in your pocket, be creative and remember you have seven strands of cord inside to use as well.

I ordered this a month or two ago and got 50 feet of light blue paracord. It has 7 strands inside the outer nylon sheath. I haven't tried to see if it could hold up 550 pounds, but it has been able to hold me (I'm about 200lbs, and I used a knot that reduces the strength of the rope by 20%, so it can hold at least 240lbs.) I also used it to string up a bear bag between two trees that were about 15 feet apart, and the bag weighed about 10lbs. I don't want to do the trig and physics to figure out how much strain was on the rope, but I figured I should let you all know regardless.

One thousand feet of 550 mil spec paracord equals a lot of fun for a middle aged dad and two young sons. I think everyone needs a roll of paracord. Once you have it around you will wonder what you ever did without it.

As others stated, not much to say about Paracord. This is the real deal. Get some.

The product arrived quickly and as advertised. This is a full seven strand cord. I've used it for a number of projects from creating handle wraps to key fobs and paracord braids and it has worked well. I have yet to use it in any load bearing tasks but expect it to perform well. I would certainly recommend this product to a friend who was interested.

I've been using this for a multitude of purposes, tent lines, boot laces, etc. This is the first purchase of paracord I have ever made so I don't know if this is normal, but I seem to have trouble sealing the ends with a flame after cutting. The inner cord and outer cord will melt together but it doesn't take much to cause them to separate again. One web site suggests dipping your fingers in water and pressing the ends while they cool to create a flattened rather than bulbish melted end.

as soon as i saw the package from the mail i knew what it was. real seven strand parachute chord, great for everyone. you can use it to make great bracelets or you can keep it in your survival pack. with a tensile strength of 550 pounds there is not much you can't do with it. great to have for anyone.

I just love paracord. Give me a good hank of paracord, duct tape, and a paperclip and I'm prepared to survive the apocalypse. Or so I would like to think. All kidding aside, this should be an essential part of your disaster preparedness kit for home, work, and auto. It's also part of my camping kit, whether backpacking or car camping. Why paracord instead of a hank of nylon or sisal rope from your local big box store? Capability. For its size, few ropes can match its load capacity, pound for pound. Speaking of size, paracord is almost ideal, for while it can always be doubled or tripled for handling increased load, it is also very space efficient. When fashioning emergency shelter, for example, you need something that is incredibly strong, not necessarily incredibly big. You can carry much more footage per unit of space with this stuff than with larger rope, and that's important when putting together kit that needs to stay portable. Even the construction of paracord makes it more useful: within the tough outer tube are seven non-braided individual strands (which are in turn themselves made up of two braided strands, each consisting of individual filaments) which can be used as component parts for other things that require smaller rope, or even thread. Need some emergency fishing line? Paracord. Need some emergency repair sewing on that backpack or tent? Paracord. When out and away from civilization, paracord is the one thing I will always have as part of my gear due to its broad and outstanding utility. So, this paracord I ordered is exactly as shown in the picture and as described: Seven-strand milspec 550 paracord (black in my case). It came on a 1000 foot spool, which was perfect to distribute among my various kits for home, auto, and camping. The spool looked exactly like the one in the photo, which was nice. I've had occasion to use it already, and while I can't say I've tested it at what should be its limit, it has performed flawlessly. I'm very happy with this product and would purchase again if I needed more.

If you find yourself needing more than a couple hundred feet of cord, go this route. Saves money and you'll find that you often have more uses for it than you thought.

Shipment was fast and got a 1012.63 foot spool...Butttttt...to good to be entirely true. Is really 450 - 6 strand para-cord. From the beginning of the spool to the end of the 1012.63 foot spool only 6 strands of inner cord. So be aware.
