Hang Gliding Training Manual: Learning Hang Gliding Skills for Beginner to Intermediate Pilots Hang Gliding Training Manual: Learning Hang Gliding Skills for Beginner to Intermediate Pilots

Hi there, I bought this guide since the issues in German were outdated and are not actualized anymore due to the Paragliding hype of the last years. Dannis Pagen has come up with the most complete and elaborate guide to hang gliding for beginners, with many clear hand drawn images and expert advice on many (seemingly) smaller things (for example how to set up the glider, providing a pre-checklist....). The book covers pretty much everything from beginner to intermediate skill and carefully explains everything there is to know in great detail(from the first flight to different starting methods, soaring, thermaling etc etc). I can only recommend this book if someone has just started to fly or for pilots that want to refresh their theoretical knowledge about flying ... everybody will find helpful advice in this book and it is just fun to read!

As a matter of fact, when I purchased hang gliding lessons they provided this training manual as part of the package. Everything that has been covered so far in lessons is referenced in this training manual. The technicals of weather and how to guage it are very well written. Despite being an older manual, alot of the Hang Glider components are still in use of the beginner and intermediate hang gliders in use today. Although I do not believe you should rely on this book alone to learn how to hang glide, I think every school which instructs can use this book as the reference guide.

Every detail to Hang glide is given in pagen books.Experience and subject matter expressed in alogical manner and consolidation chapters hardens the skill of the student. Pagen books and the complementary videos encourage people to soar just like eagles.

An excellent book: Well written, loaded with diagrams and information, great for the novice. I have spent good money on disappointing hang gliding books and videos. This manual, however, is worth every penny.

I've bought other HG books & returned or trashed them. The cheaper books are way to basic. Dennis & his wife made this manual easy to read & understand plus the drawings are right to the point. Even if you never hang glide, but are interested in it, this is the book to buy.
